                            * INTRODUCTION * The state of Kolhapur was  established by Tarabai in 1707 because of the succession dispute over the Maratha kingship . The Maratha throne was then governed by descendants of Tarabai. One of the prominent Kings was Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj (Shahu of Kolhapur). Why is Kolhapur named history?                       * INTRODUCTION *  Delhi has a long history, and has been an important political centre of India as the capital of several empires. Earliest coverage of Delhi's history is in the onset of the Tomar's kingdom in the 8th century . Who founded Delhi? Although nothing remains of Indraprastha, legend holds it to have been a thriving city. The first reference to the place-name Delhi seems to have been made in the 1st century bce, when  Raja Dhilu  built a city near the site of the future Quṭb Mīnār tower (in present-day southwestern Delhi) and named it for himself.
